Ford Bath Immersion Tester Elcometer 1270 Operating Instructions
The Elcometer 1270 Ford Bath Immersion Tester is designed to perform, with high reproducibility, a large number of standardised or conventional tests in order to assess the resistance of coatings, notably to blistering, when immersed in water.
Coated metal sheets are laid at an angle of 15°-20°on a grooved bottom and fully immersed in de-ionised water, warmed to 40°C ±1°C (104ºF ±2ºF). Once a predetermined time is reached, the samples are removed and the coating is inspected. The instrument is very simple and consists of a plastic tank with grooved sample holder, a plastic cover and a heater with circulation pump.
