2004+ Ford F-150 Billet Handle Assembly Instructions
Remove of the interior door panel
Steps:
#1 Use flat head screwdriver to remove the plastic panel along side the window. A 6-mm -socket head screw is now visible to remove.
#2 Use flat head screwdriver to remove speaker grille, (4) 6-mm socket head screw are now visible to remove speaker. You must remove the (4) white nut bosses by pushing from the backside to pop them out.
#3 Use a flat head screwdriver to remove the window control switch panel. Inside the door panel to the left is located 10-mm socket head bolts. Use 10-mm -socket w/ ratchet and 3” long extension to remove.
#4 Use a flat head screwdriver to remove the small plastic panel above the interior door handle. Now that the small plastic panel is removed, (2) 8-mm socket head bolts are now visible use 6-mm-socket w/ ratchet and 3” long extension to remove bolts.
#5 Now gently pry back the [inside door housing assemble] to free it from the door panel.
#5 Use a 6mm-socket w/ ratchet and 3” long extension to remove the two screws at
the bottom of the interior door panel.
#6 Once all the fastening screws have been removed, the interior plastic door panel can be removed by carefully pulling it straight up and slightly towards you. The panel is still connected to the door by some electrical wiring.
Now peel back the protective plastic sheet starting at the upper corner at the end of the door.
# 7 Remove door brace for easy access in the removal of the door handle. Use 6mm -socket w/ ratchet and 3” long extension to remove bolt.
#8 Looking at the back side of the stock door handle you will notice two metal rod each held in place by a plastic clip. “Snap” the plastic clip off of the rod by pulling it straight back using a hook scribe.
#9 There are (2) 10-mm -socket nuts located on the back of the stock handle that hold it onto the door. Carefully remove these two nuts as to not drop them into the door frame. Located on the side of the door are (2) rubber dust caps to remove, now visible are (2) 10-mm -socket bolts to be removed.
#10 Now that the (2) back nuts and (2) side bolts have been removed, the stock handle can be removed. To do this, carefully maneuver the handle free of the door without scratching any painted surfaces.
