Chevrolet/GMC Manual Shift Extension Installation Instructions
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove the four screws and four plastic fasteners holding the shift boot to the floorboard. Slide the shift boot up the lever out of the way.
2. Pull the rubber cover back to gain access to the spring plate. Remove the four screws mounting the spring plate to the top of the transmission. Remove the spring plate and lever from the vehicle.
3. Scribe a line along the lever below the bend. This line will be used to index the two pieces once the lever is cut.
4. Cut the lever through the line allowing for an adequate straight section of lever below the bend for the extension to mount.
5. Install the shift extension between the two pieces of the shift lever. Make sure the pieces of the lever seat all the way into the extension and the scribed lines are aligned.
6. Using a 1/8” drill bit, drill a hole through the two sections of lever and the extension using the existing holes in the extension as guides. Take care to drill through the center of the lever sections.
