GM Power Steering Conversion Mid Fifty F-100 Instructions

KIT FITS: 1950 - 1964 ½ and ¾ ton Ford pickups and panels F-1, F-100, F-150. These instructions covers Drop Axle Kit as well but steering link and both tie rods are different. KIT INCLUDES: Plates for each side of frame rail with tubes pre-welded and pre-drilled for steering box mounting, seamless heavy wall tubing tie rod and steering drag link, 2 right and 1 left tie rod end, and a machined steering link (double tie rod end) *

ADDITIONAL PARTS YOU MAY NEED:
A 1965 to 1980 GM passenger car Saginaw power steering box. Can be front or rear steer, but look for one with 4 turns lock to lock and avoid Camaro-Firebird type, too quick for truck. The more turns lock to lock the better the handling, remember this is a heavy truck and most weight is forward.
A power steering pump with brackets that mount to your engine.
All necessary lines and hoses.
A pitman arm,* NOTE: Get the shortest pitman arm possible 5″ to 5 ½ ” ,center to center of holes. Try the larger GM 70’s cars such as Buicks and Station Wagons, 1978 Monte Carlo.
”Front of frame at bumper. Use short Pitman Arm 5” to 5 1/2” center to center is best. (1978 Monte Carlo) or heaver cars like Buicks or Station Wagons. Drag link should be as close to horizontal as possible at ride height.
