2006-09 Honda S2000 Base, High-Boost, and YouTune Supercharger Kits Installation
SECTION 1: PRE-INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS:
Step 1: Remove the negative battery cable. Before removing the battery cable, verify that you have the “anti theft” radio code. It is usually located in your owner’s manual. If you cannot find the radio code, take your car to your local Honda dealer so that they can retrieve the code through the Honda computer network.
Step 2: Jack your car up, or put the car up in the air if you are working in a shop. Support your car with Jack Stands or Ramps if you are working on the ground. Never work under a car without some type of reliable support.
SECTION 2: ECU REMOVAL (TUNED KITS ONLY)
Step 3: Remove the plastic door sill plate by simply lifting up on the sill plate where the “S2000” logo is and rotate the sill plate towards the driver seat. The panel will become dislodged from its attachment points.
Step 4: Remove the drivers inner kick panel. You will find this panel is held in place by two plastic retainer clips. One clip is located under the dash next to the clutch pedal. Simply grab the panel and give it a swift pull and the plastic retainer will pop out.
Step 5: Follow that panel up along the door/dash junction. Pull the rubber molding back and you will find a small retainer holding the top of the kick panel tight to the door seam. Carefully remove that plastic clip, as it is small and fragile, and pull the hood release handle and the kick panel will come out.
Step 6: With the inner kick panel removed, you will find the ECU (engine control unit/ engine computer) located just to the outside of the clutch pedal. Remove the two 10mm headed bolts that hold the lower part of the ECU in place. The upper part of the ECU is held by a rubber grommet. Simply rotate the ECU to remove it from its location. Place the ECU in the shipping box included with your kit and ship it to Hondata using the prepaid/preaddressed shipping label. Fill in the ECU Reflash/Warranty Certificate with all of your information and insert it into the box prior to sealing the box. Your ECU will be returned directly to the address you write on the ECU Reflash/Warranty Certificate from Hondata.
